Our desire to tell the world
about the Holocaust comes
from living through it.
I spent an entire year in Holland in
Kamp Westerbork. Every Monday,
the dreaded freight train arrived,
and it left on Tuesday loaded
with people. When visiting the
United States Holocaust Memorial
Museum in Washington, my most
powerful experience is seeing the
railroad car and walking through
it. As victims, the Museum tells
our story, and therefore we give it
our love and support. Many years
ago, Hanni and I set aside a portion
of our estate for Jewish causes,
with half going to the Museum.”
