CARL COX FOR US HOLOCAUST MEMORIAL MUSEUM
We grew up in near silence,
for my father could never
speak of his anguish. As
his conscience to ‘speak the truth’
grew impatient, he asked if we
would be interested in going to
Poland, where his life began and
from where he narrowly escaped.
So, 65 years after his liberation, I
received one of the greatest gifts
of my life. From that point on, I
was compelled to kindle a light of
hope—hope of freedom, hope of
understanding, hope of caring. I
have chosen to be a Guardian in
his honor, to help keep the torch lit
that the Museum so passionately
carries to protect and preserve the
memories of my family and others
for future generations.”
