parents, Leonard and Lillian

values of the old country and
America. My father shared
his life in Białystok, Poland,
and my mother described
growing up Jewish here.
After we learned the
details of the Holocaust, it
became a major influence
on our family. Our parents
did everything possible
to help the survivors and
let the world know this

to teach and promote
respect for the moral
compass of humanity. The
Holocaust, not the first
or last such visitation of
immoral and inhuman
behavior, was certainly
the most organized and
pernicious in recorded
history. The statesponsored, targeted hatred
and mass murder remains
a scar on our souls. The
Museum helps heal this
by capturing survivors’
testimonies, evidence,
and artifacts to teach
future generations and law
enforcement, and hopefully,
prevent a repetition.
With fading memory,
these facts, evidence, and
artifacts would lose current
relevance. The Museum
makes relevance an
ongoing activity—for the
betterment of all peoples.”
