30th Anniversary Guardians Commemorative Book - Book - Page 207
My first encounter with
the Holocaust, as a
teenager, was reading
I Never Saw Another Butterfly and
The Diary of Anne Frank. These made
such an impact that, even though I
was a third-generation American and
lost no family members or friends,
the Holocaust became a lifelong
passion. My great desire is to instill
that passion in others, especially
future generations. Those coming
after us must not only be involved in
remembering the Holocaust but also
be enmeshed in thwarting hatred and
bigotry. I am so proud to be a Legacy
of Light Guardian of the United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum. The
staff ’s devotion to its goals is limitless,
and I feel extremely fortunate to have
such a wonderful Museum at my
fingertips. We must remain committed
and help others find commitment in
the Museum’s message.”
