ERADICATING
GENOCIDE
One can never truly
forget something
as horrific as the
Holocaust because
this was true inhumanity. Yet, look
at what is happening today—you
still have genocide. So, you have to
ask: How can you make things better
if you don’t know what failed? You
can never change the future without
knowing about the past.
America was established on the
principle that ‘all men are created
equal.’ Jewish tradition says that
‘Man is created in God’s image.’ We
support the Museum because it
teaches so powerfully the disastrous
consequences of intolerance.
While the Museum was built as
a memorial to the victims of the
Holocaust, the lessons of this genocide
need to be taught so that the term
‘genocide’ is forever eradicated from
the vocabulary of the human soul.
The vast majority of the young
people walking through the doors
of the Museum are not Jewish.
When they have the opportunity

to understand what happened and
why it happened, they learn how to
treat one another. They learn that
you do not have the right to take a
life because you don’t like someone.
They learn that you can make
the world a better place without
sacrificing the dignity of others.
Through everything we do in our
volunteer work and philanthropy, we
are trying to make a major difference
in the world. We see how these kids
who come through are transformed,
how much incredible work the
Museum scholars are doing. We see
the Museum as a conduit to those
who are suffering, no matter where
they reside in the world, and we let
them know: ‘You are not alone. You
will not be abandoned. We will be
your voice.’ The Museum plays a
vital role in repairing the world, and
we are thrilled to be a part of this
incredible institution forever.”
